Bengaluru Metro Extends Services Until 2 AM for IPL Match on March 28

Bengaluru Metro Service Extension for IPL Enthusiasts

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has announced an exciting update for cricket fans as it extends metro services until 2 a.m. for the much-anticipated TATA IPL T20 match in Bengaluru on March 28. This initiative aims to improve convenience for spectators who want to enjoy the thrilling match without worrying about transportation.

Last Train Timing Adjustments

Typically, the last metro services conclude around 11 p.m.; however, for the IPL match, these hours have been significantly extended. According to BMRCL’s latest announcement, trains will depart from key stations at staggered times: Whitefield (Kadugodi) at 12:30 a.m., Challaghatta at 12:45 a.m., and services from Silk Institute and Madavara will run until 12:45 a.m. Bommasandra will have extended services until 1 a.m., while the last train from R.V. Road is scheduled to leave at 2 a.m. The final train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) will head towards all directions at 1:30 a.m.

Convenient Travel with IPL Tickets

Enhancing commuter convenience, BMRCL has introduced a unique benefit for IPL ticket holders. Each match ticket will feature a QR code, enabling seamless two-way travel on the metro. This feature will be available for both printed and digital tickets, allowing spectators to travel without the hassle of purchasing separate metro tickets.

Guidelines for Metro Stations

Fans are advised to plan their route according to their stadium entry points. Spectators who intend to enter through gates from Cubbon Road should use the Cubbon Park Metro Station. Alternatively, those approaching via Link Road are encouraged to use the Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro Station, both conveniently located within walking distance from the stadium.

Parking Facilities for Match Day

In addition to the extended metro hours, BMRCL has arranged additional parking space at multiple metro stations for the match day. Parking will be offered at a nominal flat rate of ₹30 for two-wheelers and ₹60 for cars, valid until metro services close.

To alleviate traffic congestion in the Central Business District and surrounding areas, commuters are encouraged to park at these stations and use the metro to reach the match venue.

Safety Measures and Compliance

BMRCL has urged all passengers to follow the instructions issued by police, stadium authorities, and metro staff during the match day to ensure safety and minimize overcrowding. In line with maintaining passenger safety, access to certain station entries may be regulated or temporarily restricted as necessary.

Conclusion

As Bengaluru gears up for the TATA IPL T20 match, the extended metro service is an excellent move to facilitate the commutation of cricket lovers, making it easier for fans to support their teams without the hassle of transportation. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the game with the ease of late-night metro services!
